Upon asking the Lord for a word for 2010 – He showed me a field and the words “the playing fields are open, equipped, and ready for battle”. When I awoke from the vision I could not make up my mind whether it was playing fields or killing fields. Nevertheless it was a field, an open field ready for battle – whether a game or a war the same outcome was expected – who wins?
No army or team embark on any endeavour without being prepared for it and until now we have been preparing, equipping and making ready for overcoming and victory. The field of experience is behind us and now before us lay the fields of victory but the choice is up to each individual whether they will overcome or not. Yes, it is true that Jesus has overcome the enemy for us and we walk in his victory but the truth is this that you still have to go out there and “take the land.” The victory is in taking the land. Read Joshua 14 & 15. Caleb had to go and take the land that was given him.
You see Body of Christ, from this I learn, that even though we are in Christ – we have choices to make and then to apply those choices by faith for whatsoever is not of faith is sin and so then we walk by faith and not by sight and so, the war we wage and the game we play. Jesus determined from the beginning of His work that we win because he has won the victory for us. However, it is up to us to take the land.
We are living in the last days and scripture tells us that we live in evil and perilous times and that our warfare is not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers – the unseen is more real than that which is seen. Jesus said we should watch and pray, Peter said to be sober and vigilant, Paul tells us not to be ignorant of the devices of evil. Never the less in all things we are more that conquerors in Christ Jesus, Stand boldly therefore and in the power of His might – We win – to a blessed and prosperous new year, being led by the Holy Spirit and doing the will of Him who sent us.
Be strong in the Lord and the power of His Might – In Jesus
